1. Explore Pilates in a new light

Fitness Trends 2024

Have you ever heard of Pilates Flow, Pilates Reformer, or Pilates Slider? The evergreen Pilates remains a trend – and brings forth some exciting formats in 2024. The demand is there: The share of your check-ins at Pilates partner locations in the past two years has doubled. For example, you can enjoy Pilates variations at the three Hale. Now Studios in Berlin. Prefer it more classic? You’ll find what you’re looking for at Rohschliff Studio in Cologne or House of Healing in Berlin. And if you can’t decide between Yoga and Pilates, the recently launched SHAPES training format by LES MILLS is just right – offered, among other places, at Holmes Place Hamburger Meile.

2. Yoga meetups: Studios as gathering spots for like-minded individuals

Yoga enthusiasts, famously seeking tranquility and relaxation, are also on the lookout for like-minded individuals to connect with. Hence, more studios offer spaces to linger. For example, at Viva Studio in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg or JAYJAY Yoga in Cologne – where a café with cozy seating areas has even been embedded into the studio. Balance Yoga in Frankfurt also has large co-working areas and an expanded gastronomic offering – you won’t want to leave the studio.

How you trained in 2023
First things first: We are fascinated by how sporty you were in 2023! In summary: On average, you checked in four times a month. Fitness remained the undisputed favorite sports category with 44 percent – that’s 11 percent more than the previous year! Yoga follows with 15 percent, and bouldering with 7 percent. Some predicted trends from the past year have risen. This year, indoor cycling took fourth place for the first time with 6 percent. Following are swimming, dancing, and various other sports. We’re also thrilled to see how experimental you are! A survey among members shows that around 66 percent tried new sports in 2023.

3. Celebrate the return of strength training and explore studios without staff

If you prefer a short, intense strength or endurance workout, there are increasingly more studios without staff since 2023 to be discovered. If you want to try this concept, you’re in the right place at NEXT DOOR by Just Fit or GET FIT in Cologne. In Berlin, you can visit the recently opened second Berlin location of EVO Fitness. Surveys show: Muscle building and a strong body are clear trends this year, and classic strength training is making a comeback. If you’re looking for a wide selection of weights and an additional challenge, you’ll find many partners. How about Trainingslager in Cologne, the legendary Gold’s Gym Performance Center in Berlin, ELBGYM in Munich, or one of the Sports Club locations in northern Germany, including Hamburg?

4. Discover meditation, journaling, and sound bath for a holistic experience

Fitness Trends 2024 Journaling

Love Yoga? We know! Classic Yoga will remain one of the top favorites in 2024 – but the offering here will also expand to include meditation, among others. Not to be confused with traditional diary writing, targeted journaling classes focus on processing your everyday life. This can help you explore your own behaviors. With sound baths, you’ll be transported into a meditative trance state through singing bowls. Partners like YTTP – Yoga to the People in Cologne, OHANA, and BEING SPACE in Hamburg, or The Sanctuary in Munich, offer corresponding classes.
